Judicial Education
In 2011, the Chairman of the Judicial Studies Board (JSB) visited New South Wales, Victoria and the United Kingdom as part of his review of judicial education in Hong Kong. Towards the end of the year the Executive Committee of the JSB submitted a report to the Chief Justice with recommendations for reform. Amongst the key recommendations were the establishment of a fully staffed permanent body wholly dedicated to the provision of continuing judicial education, including seminars and workshops on court craft, induction courses, judgment writing courses, publications, alert notices and the provision - as at present - of Bench Books. The key recommendations have in principle been accepted and concrete progress for their implementation is expected in 2013. |
